What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Learn more about the NSW Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy.

Ocean Shores Public School maintains high expectations of students in all areas of school life.

The school is concerned with development of the "whole" student - not solely their academic progress.

Development of a student's self discipline, interpersonal skills and work ethic are taken seriously by the school.

With this in mind, personal presentation and uniform are areas where specific standards have been determined for the students.

Most items of the uniform are available for purchase from the school office.

Canteen

The Ocean Shores Public School canteen is committed to promoting and providing nutritious and delicious food for our students and staff.

Canteen is open on Fridays serving snacks at recess break and lunches and snacks at lunch break.

View the current canteen menu if you would like to place an  order for your child.

To order lunch, students write their name, class, order and total price on a paper bag and bring it to the canteen before first bell at 9:15am on Friday morning.

The orders are delivered to the classrooms prior to lunch break.

Joining the canteen roster is a huge help to the canteen, but more importantly provides parents with a wondow into their children's school lives. Children love to see their parents in the canteen.

Research shows that parental involvement in school stimulates better learning outcomes.

If you would like to find out more about joining the canteen crew, please give the office your details to be passed on to the Canteen Coordinator.
