The study of mathematics is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.
By studying mathematics, students develop knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical concepts and their use within the classroom and beyond.
The syllabus consists of the following strands:
- number and algebra
- measurement and geometry
- statistics and probability.

Maths Olympiad
During play break on Wednesdays, 25 of our students have been learning and sharing their skills and knowledge of maths, in preparation for the upcoming Maths Olympiad competitions.
All students in years 4, 5 and 6 are invited to participate in this challenging and rewarding program that will stimulate their creative maths problem solving capabilities.

2018 results
This week we received our school’s official results in the Maths Olympiad. Ocean Shores Public School came in 33rd position out of 1437 schools from across Australia.
