Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. 

Children at Ocean Shores Public School are given many opportunities to express themselves creatively through our wonderful Creative Arts Program.

Students are also given the opportunity to enter artworks in competitions which are run throughout the year and some of our students have had great success.

Students participate in activities at a range of levels as well as being given opportunities to perform at school assemblies, musicals and dance festivals and annual talent shows. 

Activities include:

• art programs

Our year 3 - 6 choir is of the highest quality and regularly performs at school assemblies and functions and in the wider community.

We have music partnerships with the Conservatorium of Music in Lismore and Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival and North Byron Parklands that allow our students to undertake instrumental lessons and have exposure to quality music education.

Our school offers performing arts rotations throughout the year with primary students participating in singing, dance, instruments, drama and band.

School discos, visiting performances, cultural excursions and special events such as Ocean Shores Art Expo and Festival of the Imagination all contribute to a positive focus on the creative arts.

We intend to fully develop the talents of every child.
